STONE LETTER CARVING
Hand carving in stone is an age-old craft. It gives the artist much satisfaction. In 2004 I began creating lettered carvings using the ancient Trajan font.
I moved on to carving custom motifs, logos, signs, plaques, monograms, and address numbers. Trajan font is the epitome of a classically styled typeface inspired by the imperial Roman letter forms chiseled into stone. It dates from, as early as 43 BC. Other works are in custom fonts, such as Hobo or Bodoni. Examples of my work are below.
My primary works are in marble, Pennsylvania Bluestone, slate, flagstone, and soapstone, with the occasional granite piece.
